Adding Annotations and Tagging Documents

This quick guide focuses only on tagging workflow so you can prepare documents correctly before inviting your signer.

Why tagging matters

  • Route each annotation to the correct participant.
  • Prevent missed signatures, initials, and date fields.
  • Keep the appointment moving with fewer interruptions.
  • Reduce post-session corrections and rework.

  1. Open the uploaded document in the signing room.
  2. Click Add tags on the right-side toolbar.
  3. Drag signature, initial, date, and notary fields to the correct locations.
  4. Confirm each field is assigned to the intended participant (signer vs. notary).
  5. Scroll through the full document and verify no required field is missing.

Final check before inviting the signer

  • Confirm page order and readability.
  • Confirm every required signer action has a corresponding tag.
  • Confirm notary-only fields remain assigned to Notary (me).
  • Save and return to the appointment flow.
