No. Remote online notarization (RON) is a workflow for performing a notarization through a live audio/video session. An electronic journal records details of notarial acts. Does NotaryCentral satisfy state mandatory journal requirements (like Virginia Va. Code § 47.1-14)?
Yes. NotaryCentral is designed to capture all mandatory statutory fields including date and time, notarial act type, document description, signer name and address, identity verification method, and fees. All entries are encrypted and backed by a 5-year retention guarantee.
What happens to journal records if an employee notary leaves our title company or law firm?
