What is the RON Certificate of Completion?
The RON Certificate of Completion is a comprehensive platform audit record generated by NotaryCentral for each completed Remote Online Notarization session. While it is a platform completion record rather than the notary's signature itself, it binds all session metadata, notarized documents, and signer identity verification records into a single, verifiable summary.
What information is included in the Certificate of Completion?
Each generated Certificate of Completion contains complete session metadata and security details, including:
- Certificate Metadata: Certificate ID, Certificate Version, Transaction ID, and Signing Room ID.
- Document Identification: Document ID, Document Filename (e.g.,
ron-sample-doc.pdf), and the Document SHA-256 cryptographic hash digest. - Session Timestamps: Exact Completion Time (UTC) and Certificate Generation Time (UTC).
- Notary Credentials: Notary Name, Commission Number, Commission State and County, and Commission Expiration Date.
- Signer Verification Details: Signer Name(s), organization details, and the identity verification method used (e.g., government-issued identification, KBA identity proofing, credential analysis).
- Notarial Acts & Venue: The specific notarial acts performed (such as Jurat or Acknowledgment) and the notarial venue (County and State).
- Integrity Statement: A cryptographic statement linking the certificate to the original document's SHA-256 digest. Any modification to the document alters the hash digest, ensuring tamper-evident verification for lenders, title companies, and courts.

- Cryptographic Document Integrity: Uses SHA-256 hashing to guarantee that the final document has not been altered or tampered with after the notarial act.
- Identity Proofing Records: Confirms that all signers underwent required identity verification and credential analysis.
- Legal Compliance & Risk Reduction: Gives notaries and signers peace of mind by maintaining permanent, immutable session completion records.
