Online request and signed form process
Use the Arizona online request flow to start the process:
- Confirm you already hold an active Arizona notary commission.
- Open the Electronic/Remote Notary Request.
- Enter your current notary information and choose the electronic or remote notary request path.
- Provide your vendor name, vendor website, and technology description.
- Watch for the E-Notary/RON Request PDF emailed by the Secretary of State.
- Print, sign, and return the signed request form to the Arizona Secretary of State, Business Services Division.
- Wait for the Secretary of State to approve the request and email your electronic notary/RON commission certificate before performing electronic or remote notarizations.
Items not submitted for Arizona RON authorization
These items may matter for your vendor workflow, notary practice, or records, but they are not separate Arizona RON submission artifacts:
- A separate RON exam or training certificate.
- An additional RON bond.
- Errors and omissions insurance proof.
- Vendor contracts or provider certification letters.
- A sample notarized document.
- Identity-proofing files or audio/video storage agreements.
- A journal upload.
- A digital certificate or electronic seal file submitted to the state.
Digital certificate, seal, and journal note
Arizona remote and electronic notaries still need the tools required to perform compliant electronic notarizations, including a digital certificate, electronic seal, and electronic journal. Those tools are arranged through your vendor workflow and used in practice, but the certificate, seal file, and journal are not mailed to the Secretary of State with the request.
