Steps to generate and download your exemplar (examplar)

To obtain your notary digital signature exemplar for your Secretary of State (SOS) RON application:

  1. Set up your Digital Certificate and Seal: Before generating your exemplar, ensure your digital X.509 certificate and electronic notary seal are configured in your NotaryCentral account settings.
  2. Access the Exemplar Generator Tool: Go to the Sample Notarized Document & Exemplar Generator.
  3. Generate the Sample Document: Click Generate Exemplar (or Create Sample Notarized Document). NotaryCentral will render a valid sample notarized document containing your digital signature image, official electronic seal, timestamp, and digital credential details.
  4. Download the PDF Exemplar: Download the generated PDF exemplar file to your local computer.
  5. Submit to Secretary of State (SOS): Log into your state's online notary application portal (e.g., NY DOS, Texas Secretary of State, Florida Department of State, etc.) and upload or attach the downloaded PDF exemplar file as required by your state.
