Apply Friends-and-Family and Courtesy Discounts

Choose the customer, rate, and eligible amounts yourself in Edit Invoice.

β€’

You want to choose which customers receive a friends-and-family percentage discount or a fully complimentary appointment. Apply these discounts manually in Edit Invoice.

Apply a friends-and-family percentage

  1. Open the selected customer's appointment and choose Edit Invoice.
  2. Under Discount, choose Friends & family.
  3. Enter your chosen Discount percentage, such as 10 for 10%. Rates must be greater than zero and no more than 100, with up to two decimal places.
  4. Review Service / travel, the default discount scope. Check each line's fee category and any Notarial-act portion of this line.
  5. Review the deduction and total due, then save.

Service / travel excludes notarial-act fees, the notarial-act portion of a bundled service price, waiting time, and percentage surcharges. Flat service/travel surcharges, such as a weekend fee categorized as Service / travel, remain eligible. Choose Whole invoice if you intend the discount to include all invoice charges.

Make the appointment fully complimentary

In Edit Invoice β†’ Discount, choose Courtesy. This selects 100% and Whole invoice. Check that the displayed total is $0.00, then save.

A full courtesy invoice is recorded as zero/no charge. The original line amounts remain available, and the discount appears as a separate deduction. To restore the original amount due, reopen the invoice, choose None, review the total, and save.

See the difference in actual amounts

Suppose the invoice has a $120 service line that includes $20 of notarial-act fees, plus $30 of waiting time. The original total is $150.

Your choiceDiscount baseDeductionTotal due
Friends & family: 10%, Service / travel$100$10$140
Friends & family: 10%, Whole invoice$150$15$135
Courtesy: 100%, Whole invoice$150$150$0

Reopening and saving a discounted invoice uses the original prices, so the percentage does not compound. Structured discounts remain selected when waiting or policy charges are assessed, and the deduction is recalculated for the resulting invoice.

Keep discounts separate from additional charges

These presets apply to this appointment's invoice. They do not create a recurring discount on the customer's profile; apply the discount yourself to each selected appointment. Customers cannot select these invoice discounts on the public booking form.

A Percentage record in Additional Charges increases a quote or assesses a policy fee. A 100% Additional Charge is a full-rate fee, not a courtesy discount. Use the invoice's Discount controls for these scenarios.

Saving a discount changes the invoice amount. It does not collect payment or refund a payment already received.
